WE HAVE POWER!
It's not totally stable, but it has been mostly on for the last 45 minutes. Based on the news reports we've been getting, we can consider ourselves fortunate.
We finally figured out that the voice channels on the wireless networks must be jammed (wonder why? haha), but we can still get text messages going. The Verizon Wireless aircard is also pulling a connection.

WOW!!! That's exciting! Hope it stays on for you. There were saying weeks on the news, so that's definitely a pleasant surprise.
We had the same problem with phones after Katrina. When I could finally dial out, I had several voicemails from one of my NYC friends. They started out calm enough, but got increasingly more frantic sounding. I think in the last one she wondered if I was dead.
Anyway, texts worked fine, so I was able to text one of my other friends and he let everyone know I was still alive.
